Referment is working closely with a multi-strategy Hedge Fund who have an impressive data platform that provides business critical data for their team of analysts, data scientists, quant analysts and portfolio managers across the firm globally. They have a brand new role within this team for a Senior Software Engineer to work on their cloud native platform and build distributed computing systems using the latest technologies.
This role will involve being part of a global tight knit team and will require an innovative and inquisitive mindset to help contribute to new build features and services on their cloud-based data platform that is compatible with many software languages. This role will see you work closely with the business, mentor junior team members and build robust data systems that are cleanly written, documented and tested.
This role will see you work on distributed systems using Python, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, SQL, Postgres and other OO languages like Rust.

Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in software engineering
- A polyglot programmer with deep experience in Python
- Passionate about all things data
- Experienced with AWS
- String distributed programming experience who has working experience with Kafka
- Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience
- A computer science degree or similar
- Has previously worked in Financial Services (not mandatory but helpful)
