Data Governance Manager

Referment are working with a global Hedge Fund who are looking for a Market Data Governance Manager to join their team in London. The Market Data Governance Manager will report in to the Global Data Compliance Director and work as part of the wider Market Data team.

The successful Market Data Governance Manager will play a key role, and be responsible for establishing, implementing and managing the firms governance frameworks as well as their risk mitigation practices. The perfect candidate will have strong knowledge and experience within data governance, both as an owner, and a steward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and enforce a data governance framework that align with corporate policies and industry standards.
• Establish and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimise impacts relating to data.
• Manage and support both internal and external audits, ensuring that all findings are addressed and remediated efficiently.
• Develop and manage incident management processes to respond to and recover from production data incidents.
• Monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes that may impact data operations.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• At least 5 years experience in a data governance role as an owner and/or steward, or a related role within a similar firm.

• Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
